Upcoming Gigs

Jez Lowe – 2nd September, 2025

What can we say about Jez Lowe that hasn’t been said already? He’s one of the best and most prolific songwriters on the planet and a lovey singer and player of guitar, cittern etc. He’s also a successful novelist and has worked with many of England’s finest folk musicians .. in particular as a member of the The Pitmen Poets – Billy Mitchell, Bob Fox, Jez Lowe, Benny Graham.

Expect songs of love and loss, mines and miners, politics and people.  Jez’s songs are also variously sad, cheery, funny and discreetly angry.  Try London Danny for sad and Old Bones for angry.

Steve Turner – 8th December, 2025

Our Christmas pudding is an old pal … Steve Turner. Steve is known as a pioneer of highly sophisticated English concertina song accompaniments, stretching the boundaries of traditional forms, with one of the best voices in the business. He is a multi-instrumentalist, who also accompanies himself on the cittern, and also plays mandolin and tenor banjo.

You can expect lots of new and old English folk songs, along with an occasional Stephen Foster.  Steve has worked with Martin Carthy and Nancy Kerr.

Have a listen here and here.  He’s fab.
