The Shottstown Miners’ Club, Penicuik<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This is a well-established Miners Club, which you will find here in John Street, Penicuik<\/a>. It has a long and honourable history both as a Miners’ club and as a venue for many events and organisations in Penicuik.\u00a0 The Miners’ Club phone number is 01968 675875 but Folk Club enquiries should be directed primarily to Alan Murray<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Externally, it’s not a thing of beauty and occasionally you’ll have to ring a wee bell to be let in (!).\u00a0 Once inside, however, it is warm, the staff are welcoming and friendly, the beer is cheap and the lounge bar at the back, where we meet, is comfortable and has good acoustics.\u00a0 Sometimes we use our small-but-perfectly-formed PA, often we do not.<\/p>\n

We can also use the club\u2019s large function room for any larger concerts, so all of our activities are in the Miners’ Club, apart from the occasional collaboration with our pals in Penicuik Community Arts Association.<\/p>\n
